Lloyd International Translations attends the STC 55th Summit in Philadelphia, PA, USA
Lloyd International Translations (LIT) recently exhibited at the Society For Technical Communication (STC) 55th Summit, held from the 1st - 4th June at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, Philadelphia, USA.
The STC is dedicated to advancing the arts and sciences of technical communication and is the largest organisation of its type in the world. Its 14,000 members include technical writers and editors, content developers, documentation specialists, technical illustrators, instructional designers, academics, information architects, usability and human factors professionals, visual designers, web designers and developers - in fact anyone whose work makes technical information available to those who need it.
The 2008 event in Philadelphia presented over 1200 technical communicators with the opportunity to learn new job skills, network with other professionals, and enjoy a number of the 130 education sessions focused on addressing a broad range of issues affecting technical communications at all levels of experience.
From an LIT perspective, the summit provided an opportunity for LIT staff from the UK to meet clients (both existing and new), to discuss compelling business reasons why US companies should choose a localization partner based in the UK – with project managers able to converse fluently with client subsidiaries in Europe in their native languages and on compatible time zones.
