Lloyd International Translations – Record Results 2004
During Quarter 3 2004, Lloyd International – one of Europe’s leading technical translation companies – has achieved record sales (41% up on last year), building on successive years of business growth and development.
Major new contracts won this year capitalise on our extensive technical expertise in key sectors, such as automotive, engineering and software applications. Projects include:
For Harley Davidson, translating over 700 pages in QuarkXPress from English into German and Spanish for a parts and accessories catalogue.
For an oil drilling equipment specialist, after a rigorous selection process, translating a series of maintenance and software manuals into Simplified Chinese.
For a leading European developer of office productivity
software, localising
250,000 words, including the user interface and documentation, into Latin-American
Spanish. Other languages to follow include Brazilian Portuguese, Simplified Chinese,
Russian, Hindi and Arabic.
For a global electrical engineering company, already
a long-term client of Lloyd International, translating all the documentation
from English to French, comprising some 300,000 words, for a power generating
plant in Morocco.
During the year we’ve developed our team – both in the UK and worldwide – in several ways.
We have increased our UK production team, extended our engineering localisation expertise and consolidated our supply chain. Our network of in-country language partners in Asia, South America, Central and Eastern Europe has been expanded. By deploying teams of linguists on large projects we have been able to achieve smoother, faster flows of work and more efficient logistics.
