The same but different!
2007 was a great year for LIT. A year which saw a 33% increase in revenue on 2006, expansion to our offices, investment in the latest tools and technologies, an increase to our technical, sales and operations teams and increased demand from clients, both existing and new.
We believe that our unique relationship-building approach fosters a far greater understanding of your needs and we fully appreciate that 2008 will be a challenging year all round.
2007 saw the introduction of a number of key quality initiatives:
We (further) developed our in-house linguist team, managed by our lead linguist, who has 10 years’ translation experience in high-tech industries.
The team forms the central language hub within the company, focusing on English, French and German. Its core goals are to:
• Manage terminology
• Proofread translations to ensure consistency and style
• Monitor translation quality and record quality reports
• Perform regular reviews of language policies
• Translate small, fast turnaround projects
• Resolve any linguistic issues
Always keen to keep at the forefront of latest technical translation technology, 2007 has seen LIT adopt Idiom WorldServer™, a leading globalization management system (GMS). Processing projects through Idiom delivers a number of benefits for our clients, including:
• Lower translation costs
• Improved quality with increased consistency
• Optimised project turnaround time
• Automated centralised memory management
• On-line glossary and review facility
Constantly striving to achieve premium quality, 2007 has seen the introduction of an enhanced Translation Quality Management (TQM) metric, whereby all current and new vendors are formally assessed and rated to maintain a consistent standard against which translation quality can be objectively measured.
As ever, our goals this year remain largely unchanged – we are focused and armed to deliver top quality technical translations coupled with the finest levels of customer service, bringing projects in on time and within budget.
