We understand the benefits of moving to more suitable technology tools, but fully appreciate the "pain" involved in moving all legacy materials and preparing new manuals. We assist our clients, providing them with help and advice from the initial selection process, through creation of translation-friendly templates, designed to leverage maximum Translation Memory discounts.

bullet_small Optimising re-use of text from translation memory. We can help and offer advice on how to maximise the re-use of text from Translation Memory, and how to reduce costs on post-translation Desktop Publishing (DTP). Many improvements can be achieved by looking at how the source documentation has been created. We help our clients review the way they create their source documentation and their illustrations, recommending where savings in resource time and costs can be made.

bullet_small Handling updates to existing manuals. Using Translation Memory is an excellent methodology for handling updates. However, if the work required to update an existing manual is found to involve minor content changes, we would adopt a DTP Centric Route, whereby our clients are charged for translation of the changes plus Desktop Publishing (DTP) on the amended pages only. We identify how projects can be delivered as cost-effectively as possible, avoiding unnecessary costs. In this example this includes removing the need for Desktop Publishing (DTP) on every single page of a manual, which would have been the case had a full Translation Memory route been chosen.

In addition to the above we can provide detailed spend and savings information, available to our clients at a frequency they prefer. It is commonplace for such statistical information to include Translation Memory leverage percentages and year-on-year analysis which we review with our clients as part of our account management partnership approach.
